            Accelerating digital transformation at all levels
The Sorbonne Business School is resolutely committed to accelerating its digital transformation, placing artificial intelligence and digital tools at the heart of its continuous improvement strategy to strengthen service quality, security and innovation. This dynamic is fully in line with the more global transformation movement led by the establishment regarding its operating procedures.
The aim is thus to integrate the opportunities offered by new technologies across the board, and to make digital technology, and AI in particular, allies in the service of academic excellence, administrative optimization and the student experience, while anticipating ethical issues and technological developments for controlled use. This digital transformation relies onenhanced governance through active monitoring and sharing of best practices, steered by the "Digital Transformation" project manager reporting to the Codir, Jean-Loup Richet, Senior Lecturer, in conjunction with the establishment's research ethics committee.
The period 2025-2030 will thus see the widespread adoption of AI at all levels of the establishment: while research, through its faculty and PhD students, is already using it (bibliographic research, producing syntheses, data processing, etc.), teaching teams are exploring its applications to enrich course materials, case studies or even develop exercises or exams. In this way, AI assistants and chatbots will gradually be deployed to support teachers and optimize administrative management, while guaranteeing ethical and responsible use. At the functional level of the Sorbonne Business School, administrative processes will be challenged to integrate AI-based tools for application management, data analysis and management, mail or message processing, with the aim of greater quality of service to users but also to staff.
In this context, the Sorbonne Business School will rely during this 2025-2026 academic year on the innovation partnership launched on a national scale by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and the Agency for the Mutualization of Universities and Establishments (AMUE) with Mistral AI, aimed at developing an intelligent conversational agent designed to meet the specific needs of students, teachers and administrative staff in higher education. As a pilot institution, the Sorbonne Business School will experiment with this innovative solution in a coordinated manner and with particular attention paid to security and digital sovereignty issues in order to:
- support teachers in the preparation of their programs and pedagogical follow-up;
- facilitate administrative tasks for agents, in particular the drafting of documents or responses to users.
In addition, the digital master plan currently being drawn up will also contribute to the establishment's digital transformation, by promoting the structuring of its digital infrastructures, through dedicated recruitment as requested as part of the transition to Extended Responsibilities and Competencies. In particular, it will promote better accessibility, reliability and accuracy of data, enabling optimized management of the Sorbonne Business School.
It also involves developing digital tools and integrating AI into its formal education. AI impacts students, both as a work tool but also in terms of assessment conditions.In this context, the establishment is moving towards the development of oral assessments and the strengthening of table-top written exams to validate skills acquisition. In addition, with ten years' experience in distance learning via its long-standing partnership with IFG, the Sorbonne Business School is looking to expand its online offering by diversifying its partnerships to target 20% of its students by 2026 (compared with 15% at present), and by hybridizing its formal education with the integration of 20% of specific online teaching activities into its programs, while still giving priority to face-to-face teaching, which remains a strong expectation among students. This will require rethinking the pedagogical organization of courses.
In addition, the Sorbonne Business School is developing a training offer geared towards these digital transformation issues:
- since 2021, the short certification program "Data Science and Digital Transformation" in partnership with the École de Guerre Économique (EGE)
- since 2024, the Executive MBA Management and Data Science in partnership with ESLSCA
- from January 2026, the "Managing organizational performance with AI" in partnership with Neocognition
More globally, through its strategic plan 2025-2030, the Sorbonne Business School is committed to acquiring fundamental skills in artificial intelligence, both for its students and staff, to make the establishment a benchmark player in management in the digital age.
