A new afforestation project financed by the Sorbonne Business School in the commune of Chevrières (60710) recently received the low-Carbon label promoted by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity.
After 3 labeled projects in Gironde and one 4th in Vendée, the Sorbonne Business School is pursuing its CSR commitment in Oise with the reforestation of a 4-hectare area, planned following pedunculate oak dieback.
As of 2020, the Sorbonne Business School has committed to offsetting the carbon footprint of emissions linked to its international missions: our establishment is thus the first university to have implemented LBC-certified carbon offset projects.
At Chevrières, over 4600 seedlings will see the light of day, and the species chosen for this reforestation are varied: chestnut, beech, small-leaf lime, hornbeam, warty birch etc.
These deciduous species have the advantage of better withstanding the site's low water reserves, and will enable a total of around 264 tonnes of CO2e to be stored.
