Prerequisites

Be under 30 years of age on the date of signing the work-study contract
Have 180 ECTS for M1 or 240 ECTS for M2
Pass the SCORE IAE-Message (SIM) depending on the sessions offered by the examination centers

The prerequisite fields of study are management, economics, law, mathematics/computing, engineering sciences and humanities.

The Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management (formerly Master 2 Supply Chain Management) presentsthe concepts, methods and tools of supply chain management, taking into account context-related issues (geopolitics and international trade, environmental constraints, technologies).

This master's degree providesa strategic and global vision of flow managementin organizations and distribution.

The winners will be awarded the MAE Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Managementawarded by Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Objectives

The Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management (MSCD) offers dual skills with a specialization in supply chain and distribution. The course meets the following objectives:

acquire the basic concepts and knowledge of supply chain management (purchasing, production, distribution, logistics),
become familiar with the methods and techniques of continuous improvement and quality (Lean, 6 Sigma),
put this knowledge and methods into perspective with developments in international trade and environmental requirements.

This renewed and expanded program prepares students for strategic positions in supply chain and distribution management, open to young graduates (Flow and Warehouse Manager, Supply Chain Consultant, Demand Planner, Supply Chain Architect, Data Analyst, Sustainable Supply Chain Manager, Marketing Manager, Purchasing and E-Commerce Director, Business Engineer, Manager specializing in luxury goods, Network Director, etc.).

Knowledge covers:

purchasing strategy, planning and performance,
logistics, production and distribution,
the challenges of the international context of organizations.

And more specifically:

In master 1:the fundamentals and concepts of general management, applied to the field of supply chain and distribution
In master 2:acquisition of managerial methods and tools for the supply chain or distribution manager from a decision-making and functional perspective.

Pedagogy

The Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management is delivered on a sandwich course basis.

Courses are taught by academics andprofessionals exercising supply chain and distribution-related functions in different business sectors. They are organized around discussions-reflections based on the reading of management books, case studies, simulation games, feedback of experience from professionals and company visits.

The Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management prepares students for jobs related to supply chain and distribution management, such as supply chain manager or supply chain project manager, logistics, chartering, transport, inventory or warehouse manager, demand planner or customer service manager, etc.

Cost

The training is free for students, who need only pay the CVEC (Contribution de Vie Étudiante et de Campus), amounting to €103 for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The cost of training is covered by the host company's OPCO.
Fixed by the professional branches, OPCOs and France Compétences, the cost-contract is set according to the host company's branch of activity. Companies can find out the exact amount from their OPCO, using the following Diploma Code > 135 3103L

Our Master's in Supply Chain and Distribution Management students are graduates of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. This is a national accredited diploma, recognized by the State and inscribed in the RNCP (Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles).

A professionalizing program favoring the integration of our students, both through the pace and the teaching offered

Company assignments as part of the work-study program enable our students to acquire strong professional experience and put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired in training. At the IAE Paris-Sorbonne, work-study students spend 3/4 of their training in a company.
The teaching in the Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management promotes students' professionalization: personal development seminar to refine one's professional project, activity dissertation in close collaboration with companies on subjects that constitute real challenges for managers, concrete case studies in companies, challenges, etc.

A week-long international professional seminar is organized in the 2nd^year of the Master's program. It is punctuated by company visits and lectures given by professionals and professors from the partner university.

The aim is to train professionals capable of meeting tomorrow's challenges thanks to the expertise of our teacher-researchers grouped together in the IAE Paris-Sorbonne research laboratory.
The Master's degree in Supply Chain and Distribution Management is supported by the IAE Paris-Sorbonne Risk Chair, which includes a multi-disciplinary team of researchers in France and abroad. The Chair works on the themes of security, particularly cybersecurity, uncertainty and the risks of regulation through standards. Master's students benefit not only from the contribution of cutting-edge, recent knowledge, but also from the seminars and conferences organized by the chair.

The master's degree culminates in thewriting and defense of a dissertation.

International professional seminar
During the curriculum, a week-long international professional seminar is organized abroad.
Rhythmed by company visits as well as lectures led by local professionals and professors, this seminar aims to address the evolutions and challenges of internationalizing value chains.

For several years now, it has been held in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) in partnership with the CFVG, and provides an opportunity to visit major European organizations operating in Southeast Asia (DHL, Nestlé, Port of Saigon, Décathlon...) and gain a better understanding of Vietnam's economy and culture.

The work-study student is both a student at the IAE Paris-Sorbonne and an employee of the company hosting him/her.

He/she signs a one-year apprenticeship or professionalization contract with the host company, the CFA FORMASUP Paris Ile-de-France and the IAE.

What's the difference between an apprenticeship contract and a professionalization contract?

Both contracts are "sandwich" contracts, alternating periods at the IAE and periods in companies.

In both cases, the learner has student status and employee status in the company.

The apprenticeship contract can only be offered to students aged under 30.
The professionalization contract imposes no age limit.

Companies offer either apprenticeship or professionalization contracts. The IAE Paris-Sorbonne accepts both types of contract.

Whether for an apprenticeship contract or a professionalization contract, the student must submit his or her assignment from Formalink. Once validated by the pedagogical manager, the CFA FORMASUP Paris Ile-de-France draws up the contracts.

Note that all employers subject to the financing of continuing vocational training can enter into a professionalization contract. However, the State, local authorities and public administrative establishments cannot draw up professionalization contracts.

As an employee, he or she receives a minimum remuneration equal to a percentage of the SMIC or the conventional minimum.
